New BCAL LiDAR Tools

Newer version of BCAL LiDAR Tools

Open-source BCAL LiDAR Tools has been updated to remove the dependencies on ENVI Remote Sensing software. The tool can be run in any computers (PC, Mac, Unix) with IDL Virtual Machine (VM), which can be downloaded for free from ITTVis.

The BCAL LiDAR Tools offer a full suite of LiDAR processing capabilities, all developed to work seamlessly within the ENVI environment. BCAL LiDAR Tools allow for the processing of large datasets, including height filtering and creating raster layers from LAS files, the ability to set projection information in LAS and create elevation profiles from LAS, export footprints to KML, and several other LiDAR productivity tools. BCAL LiDAR Tools also provides a built in 3D data viewer for viewing raw LiDAR point clouds.
